{"id":222,"date":"2016-06-05T21:41:24","date_gmt":"2016-06-05T18:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/?p=222"},"modified":"2016-07-17T23:59:24","modified_gmt":"2016-07-17T20:59:24","slug":"solar-wind-prediction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/2016\/06\/solar-wind-prediction\/","title":{"rendered":"Solar wind prediction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m going to do an experiment of predicting the solar wind speed near the Earth based on the series of the Sun images.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/swx.sinp.msu.ru\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics of Moscow State University<\/a> publishes <a href=\"http:\/\/swx.sinp.msu.ru\/weather.php?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">observation and prediction data on space weather<\/a>. Solar wind prediction is also published there. My experiment is to try to build more accurate prediction based on the same initial data from SINP MSU.<\/p>\n<p>The experiment is the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Take the data from SINP MSU<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/2016\/06\/coronal-holes-data-features-extraction\/\">Prepare features data to be used as predictors<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/2016\/06\/solar-wind-observations-epam-ace\/\">Prepare observational data to be used as reference values<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/2016\/06\/msu-sinp-solar-wind-velocity-forecast\/\">Calculate error rates for current SINP MSU model<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/2016\/06\/solar-wind-particle-bursts-engine\/\">Designing the computational model for the solar wind<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/grechka.family\/dmitry\/blog\/2016\/07\/solar-wind-computational-model\/\">Fit Pulse-based model of solar wind<\/a>, calculate error rates<\/li>\n<li>Fit machine learining regression<\/li>\n<li>Compare the error rates of each of the models<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For each of this experiment phases I will publish a separate post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m going to do an experiment of predicting the solar wind speed near the Earth based on the series of the Sun images.
